CESDI, with funding from USAID, IOM and RRF implemented a project focused on providing emergency multipurpose cash and protection assistance to vulnerable victims of flooding in Katsina State. The intervention targeted flood-affected communities in Mai’Adua, Mani, Funtua, and Katsina LGAs, addressing their urgent needs and supporting recovery efforts.
The project was designed to provide life-saving assistance and protection services through key activities such as stakeholder engagement, emergency cash distribution, gender-based violence (GBV) sensitization, and distribution of dignity kits for survivors. Additional activities included service mapping and the establishment of referral pathways, cash feasibility and market assessments, as well as psychosocial support and assistance for flood victims and victims of gender-based violence accelerated by the disaster.
The initiative prioritized vulnerable groups, including women, children, and persons with disabilities, ensuring their immediate needs were met while fostering resilience within affected communities.
